July 13th Second Saturday Art & Culture Walk

Old Town Cottonwood Second Saturday Art & Culture Walk Saturday, July 13, 2019, 4-9pm

Come join merchants of Old Town Cottonwood for a fine selection of ART, wine, food, music, and excellent times! It’s a new month, and a new chance to explore Old Town Cottonwood’s Second Saturday Art & Culture Walk.

New on the art scene, the Cottonwood Council Chambers Building at 826 N. Main Street, opens its rotating artist exhibition wall with the work of Helen McLuckie. McLuckie got her artistic start as a self-taught carver and sculptor of wood. In 2006, she developed an interest in painting and settled in with oil pastels as her main medium. She has received a long list of awards for her carvings and paintings at exhibits and juried shows in the Midwest and nationally. The artist’s intentions with her paintings is to evoke a connection with the viewer for a special moment in time. The works in this exhibit are done in oil pastel on different surfaces.

Reviving their presence, The Zackford Gallery opens its doors for the season on this special day. To celebrate the Summer, they are offering All Hopi Kachinas for 25% off. This offer is available on July 13th only. The Zackford Gallery is located at 764 N Main Street. (928) 203-0371

ARC Contemporary Fine Art continues its summer exhibit ‘Material Impulse: A Confluence of Clay Artists.’ This exhibition explores ceramic artists' deeply visceral and personal engagement with materiality. The ARC is located across from The Zackford, at 747 North Main.

For the music scene, there is no shortage. Ak a tour de Force and see them all! Mark Willner with be at Burning Tree Cellars 6-9pm, Molly Shuvani at Pillsbury 4-7pm, Young Chhaylee at Arizona Stronghold 6-9pm, What’s the Big Idea at State Bar 9pm start, and it’s Karaoke Night at Poquito Loco from 9 to midnight.

Two featured artists will be present at The Muse Gallery, 735 N Main Street, offering an extended collection of their works, and some in house demonstrations and classes. Both Malou Lentsinis and Joanne Agostinelli’s work capture the light and wonder of the natural world, and the flora and fauna which inhabit them. Leontsinis also tends towards intense monochrome female forms and faces, while Agostinelli’s work depicts the primal elements: Earth and Sky, Fire and Water. Through her masterful use of light, Ms. Agostinelli is able to capture the vivid stillness between moments.

Other events at The Muse include Printmaking with Karon Leigh from 12-4pm at Studio B, and The Raven Sisters will be playing live starting at 5:30 on the front patio. Enjoy the outdoor setting under the tall trees and stars, as the cool of evening sets in. Tickets are limited for The Muse classes. Register online today at
